"Passport To Pimlico" written by Thomas Ernest Bennett (T.E.B) Clarke whom was also famous for his 1952 he was awarded a Best Original Screenplay Oscar for his script for "The Lavender Hill Mob", making him one of just a handful of Britons to receive this award
"Passport to Pimlico" was directed by Henry Cornelius and produced by Michael Balcon, distributed by Eagle-Lion Films.

The film was actually screened at the 1949 Cannes Film Festival but not entered into the competition. Cast such as Stanley Augustus Holloway, OBE (1 October 1890 – 30 January 1982) was a celebrated English stage and film actor, comedian and singer, famous for his comic and character roles on stage and screen, especially that of Alfred P Doolittle in My Fair Lady. He was also renowned for his recordings of comic monologues and songs, which spanned throughout his seventy-year career. Being one of the most popular British actors of that time it gave "Passport To Pimlico" huge success.
